Frankie Louise Mays (Rutherford), age 87 of Jacksboro, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 23, 2026, at Turkey Creek Medical Center. She was born on July 11, 1938, to the late Sam William Rice and Pearlie Mae (Evans) Wilson. Frankie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved sharing his gospel with everyone she met, her conversations always ended in “God bless you”. She was a lifelong and oldest living member of Lakeview Baptist Church and loved gardening, cooking, going to church, gathering eggs from her chickens, and playing with her great grandson Easton. Frankie loved being outside, spending time with her family and her grandpups, and making friends everywhere she went.

In additions to parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, John Charles Rutherford, Olen McCarty, and Rex Mays; and her brother-in-law Oscar King.

Frankie is survived by her sons Darrell Rutherford and wife Gina of Jacksboro and Gabe McCarty and Della of Jacksboro; special friends Edna Richardson and Sue Wallace; brother James Rice and wife Pat of South Carolina; sisters Mary Lee King of Jacksboro and Helen Richardson and husband Wayne of Kentucky; grandchildren Gates Abbott and Husband Jonathan, Cable McCarty and Johnathan Rutherford; great grandson Easton; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Lake View Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Roger Stanley and Brother Terry Beach officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for an 10:00 AM interment.
