Joint press release from police officers attorneys and the City of LaFollette

LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- The City of LaFollette and Plaintiffs, Brian Tiller and Marvin Miller have reached a full and complete settlement of all issues in the Civil Rights lawsuit, styled Marvin L.. Miller and Brian M. Tiller v. City of LaFollette, TN, Case No. 3:23-cv-00152, filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee.

Brian Tiller was a long-term Police Officer of the City of LaFollette, TN, Police Department, serving as a Lieutenant. Marvin Miller was a long-term Police Officer of the City of LaFollette, TN, Police Department, serving as a Sergent. The City of La Follette appreciates their years of service to the community. Mr. Tiller and Mr. Miller have consistently maintained that the terminations were wrongful, and that the reasons the City of LaFollette gave to justify the terminations were false and unfounded. The City of LaFollette denies, and continues to deny, all allegations made by Mr. Tiller and Mr. Miller in the lawsuit.

The parties are grateful that they were able to reach a resolution of this matter, and the City of LaFollette wishes Mr. Tiller and Mr. Miller the best in their future endeavors.
