Former Mayor Cliff Jennings joins field for La Follette November race

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- Three municipalities will have elections in November. Caryville, Jellico and La Follette will fill a total of 13 upcoming vacancies.

The election is Thu., Nov. 3, with Thu., Aug. 20, being the last day to turn in a petition to seek office.

On Friday, former La Follette Mayor and Council Member Cliff Jennings picked up a petition to run for council for La Follette. Jennings was first elected in 1983 to council, then a few years later as mayor. For almost 43 years, Jennings has either been mayor or on council the balance of those years.

Caryville will elect a mayor and three aldermen.  On the ballot, three aldermen seats are up, the seats of Josh Monday, Vickie Heatherly and Jordan Cross.  The remaining term, two years, of former mayor David Chambers is on the ballot.

So far, Ramsey Bloy is the only person who has requested a petition to run for alderman at Caryville.

At Jellico, a mayor and six aldermen will be elected.  Here is who has picked up a petition so far.

A couple of openings on the City of La Follette Council will need to be filled.  Chuck Queener and Stephanie Solomon’s terms are nearing their end.  On Friday, former Mayor and Councilman Cliff Jennings picked up for the La Follette race, the first candidate to do so.
