Strong winds and tropical downpours, flooding concerns are the order of Friday’s weather

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The flooding risk continues through this morning. Strong 40+ mph wind gusts expected area-wide. Wind gusts of more than 60 mph will be possible in and around the Knoxville metro area and to the northeast across the Tri-Cities region and southwest Virginia. These strong winds, when combined with saturated soils, will likely result in downed trees and power outages. Be prepared for prolonged power outages.6

It’ll be breezy Saturday morning as winds to continue decreasing. Light rain showers likely on Saturday, no additional impacts expected.
