Temperatures in the teens with snow falling early Monday morning

Firefighters with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service battled through bitter wind chills, temps in the teens and blowing snow to fight a house fire.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Rural Fire Service was paged out Monday morning at 3:15 on the call of a possible house fire. Once on scene, firefighters described the house fire as fully involved.

A deputy with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office was the first responder to the scene saying the fire could be seen from a distance soon confirming it was a house fire.

The home is located near the intersection of Brown Drive and Doaks Creek Road.

The home was a total loss.

The deputy notified Central Dispatch operators that everyone made it out of the home safely though suffering from minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Campbell County EMS also responded transporting one male from the home to the La Follette Medical Center. The man was seriously injured suffering from minor burns and smoke inhalation and then taken by ground ambulance to a Knoxville hospital, according to one official.
