LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- “We’ve seen absolute utter devastation; homes washed away including one family where a mother, father and their three children were washed away with their home,” said Michael Dent, pastor of La Follette Church of God. Dent is referencing where he and others associated with the church have ventured the past couple of weeks to the flood ravaged areas of Upper East Tennessee.
Dent and a group of folks will gather this morning at 9:30 at the Church of God and leave by ten o’clock with another load of supplies heading to Johnson City, Embreeville, Valley Forge and Elizabethton. They’ll spend about three hours on site delivering the supplies Campbell Countians and others have donated.

“It’s amazing. We leave with a load of supplies, and when we return in the evenings, there’s even more donations that have come in to our gym,” said Dent. “Here in Campbell County, you folks have been shining like stars on a very dark night,” said Dent.
Donations are being accepted at the La Follette Church of God, on the four lane, across from the high school. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/14/2024-6AM)
