Accident happened just before 9:30 Saturday morning

WHITE OAK, TN (WLAF)- A deer hunter was seriously injured when he fell out of a tree stand early on Saturday, according to officials. “It looks like he fell from a height of about 20 feet,” said White Oak Volunteer Fire Chief Jimmy Pack.

Members of the Jellico Rescue Squad located the Campbell County man, said to be in his 60s, and brought him out of the woods on a JRS ATV. A landing zone was set up by members of the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department, and Campbell EMS transported the man to Sweet Gum Flats, also known as The Beach, on White Oak Road to meet a medical helicopter.

The patient appeared to be suffering from a broken hip and broken leg, according to one official.
