La Follette Middle School earns NFHS Level 1 National Recognition for coaches commitment to player safety

LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- La Follette Middle School (LMS) has officially earned National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Level 1 National Recognition, a prestigious designation that highlights the school’s commitment to safety, training, and excellence in coaching. This recognition signifies that all LMS coaches have met the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) standards, ensuring they are properly trained in safety measures and best practices for student-athletes.

The NFHS Level 1 National Recognition is an important milestone for LMS and a testament to the progress being made within the school’s athletic department. Under the leadership of Athletic Director Garrison Hayes, LMS has prioritized professional development for coaches, student-athlete safety, and the implementation of best practices in athletic programming.
“This is a huge step forward for our athletic department,” said Hayes. “Our coaches have worked hard to complete the necessary training to meet NFHS standards, and this recognition reinforces our dedication to creating a safe, competitive, and well-rounded sports environment for our student-athletes.”

By achieving NFHS Level 1 National Recognition, LMS is demonstrating a proactive approach to ensuring that all student-athletes receive guidance from knowledgeable and safety-conscious coaches. This accomplishment aligns with the school’s broader mission to provide high-quality extracurricular opportunities that support student growth both on and off the field.
LMS continues to invest in its athletic programs, from facility improvements to enhanced coaching education, setting a strong foundation for future success. The school remains dedicated to maintaining these high standards and continuing its commitment to excellence in middle school athletics.
