Danny D. Wilhoit, age 59, of Jacksboro passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Today our hearts are broken and heavy as we share the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, son, papaw, father-in-law, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew and friend to many.
Danny was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on June 17, 1966 but, has resided in Campbell County most of his life. He is a 1984 graduate of Campbell County Comprehensive High School. Danny was a kind soul, full of wisdom, love and compassion for so many. He gave his all no matter what he was doing. He is a retired Veteran of the National Guard after putting in 26 years of service from 1984-2010. He also done tour in Iraq and Kuwait. keeping in touch with many friends over the years. He spent his free time with his wife of 17 years, she was the love of his life, treating her like a queen with the utmost respect and love. They enjoyed the outdoors, thrift shopping, antique and food type events, and spending time with family and his grandchildren. He had a comforting presence and compassion for others. His wisdom, gentleness and love touched so many.

The family will receive friends 5-7 Pm Friday, May 22, 2026 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service in Cross-Smith Chapel at 7 PM, Rev. Elijah Duncan officiating. Interment will be at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 12:30 PM.
