Dallas R. Bogan, age 92, of Jacksboro passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026. He was a member of LaFollette Church of God. Dallas was retired from Armco Steel in Middletown, Ohio. Preceded in in death by
granddaughter: Lindsay Bogan, parents: Charles and Opal Turner Bogan, son-in-law: John Whitfield.
A prolific author who wrote upwards of 20 books on Civil War History, genealogy, and hundreds of articles on local Ohio and Tennessee History.
A chronic jokester who always managed to find joy in the little things, both intentionally and accidentally.
A wonderful and irreplaceable husband, father, granddad, and great granddad. Our family will never be the same without your smile, laugh, and sage wisdom. We love you and we miss you already.
The Bullskin Trace monument which stands in Harveysburg, OH was erected by Dallas Bogan and the Warren County Historical Society. The monument marks and Indian trail that led from the Ohio River to Detroit Michigan.

The family will receive friends 1-2 PM Monday, July 20, 2026 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel, Bishop Michael Dent officiating. Following the service family and friends will go in procession to Bakers Forge Cemetery for Interment.
