Curtis Ray Teague, 86 years of age, of the Anthras, TN Community, passed away on June 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Curt took his last breath as his niece, Vanessa, read Psalms 16 & 17. It was a peaceful moment as God’s presence filled the room.

Curtis was a devoted father and husband who loved his family with quiet strength. He was a man of strong Christian faith, an avid horseman, a gardener, and a local historian. If someone needed to know anything about the Clearfork Community, they called Curt. He was a logger for most of his adult life and worked at a sawmill until he was nearly 80 years old. He enjoyed talking about the olden days, his time spent in the “moonshine business,” coal mining, railroads, and his number one passion: horses. Curt was a master of dry humor and frequently had an audience that hung on every word!

Just like his wife Geneva, he will leave a deep imprint in these hills and hollers. This cowboy was as much a part of the mountains as they were a part of him. His spirit will live forever.
