Homicide allegedly occurred in July on Highway 25W about a mile south of Highway 90 turnoff

JACKSBORO,TN. (WLAF)- An indictment has been handed down in a murder that occurred in July.

Last week, Joshua Cox was indicted on the sole count of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Audie Green.

The homicide allegedly occurred in July on Highway 25W about a mile south of the Highway 90 turnoff.

Green was found dead from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle along Highway 25 W in Campbell County, according to reports. During the course of the investigation, authorities determined Cox, who had been a passenger in the vehicle, was the person responsible for Green’s death, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said at the time.

Cox is scheduled to be arraigned in criminal court on Mon., Oct. 21.
