JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- “It’s a good team coming in here, and I’m sure they’re excited about facing a 2 & 6 team thinking they have a chance to win. Hopefully, our guys are thinking the same about them,” said Campbell Head Football Coach Mark Pemberton. His 2 & 6 Cougars host 2 & 6 Morristown East on Friday at Dossett Stadium.
East is a 6-A team while Campbell is in Class 5-A, and the Hurricanes have played a tough schedule that includes a couple of one-point losses. “It’s not like they’ve given up the ship. They’ve played a lot of quality Tennessee football teams and have had chances to win some of those games,” said Pemberton.
At Dumplin Valley, East lost a tight one to Jefferson County, 21-20 and lost a 34-33 heartbreaker at home to William Blount. Other losses came to Science Hill and Dobyns-Bennett. There are common opponents, Morristown East lost at Gibbs like Campbell did and fell at home to Lenoir City.
