Mac Fritts (above photo left) and Reid Chapman led a team of Cougars for a big day of fishing

NORRIS LAKE, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County High School Fishing Team, headed by Coach Gabe Keen, performed extremely well in a recent tournament on Norris Lake.
Six Cougar duos launched at Brogans TVA Boat Ramp, along Highway 33 between New Tazewell and the Highway 33 Bridge, two Saturdays ago in a field of 38. Mac Fritts and Reid Chapman were the top Cougar fishermen, and finished fourth in the tournament, bringing in a weight of 11.46 lbs.

Finishing 10th, the Malone cousins, Ayden and Anthony, brought in 9.52 pounds.
Mason Dople and Ethan Kidd ended up 14th in the standings with a total weight of 8.52 lbs.
The CC Middle school group, Levi Goins and Isaac Wilson, finished 20th with 7.67 pounds while Kale Stiner and Grady Keen weight came in at 2.81 for 16th place. See a related story HERE.
Cougar Cooper McQuitty fished solo on Norris and brought in 7.08 pounds.
In 35th place, Grayson Dykes and Paxton Wormsley kept three fish weighing in at 6.34 pounds.
Not only did the Cougars fish well at Norris, the Orange-and-Blue is also having success in the overall standings.
Mac Fritts and Reid Chapman are representing CCHS at second place in the high school point standings.
These standings are based on three tournaments, one at Cherokee Lake at the end of last year, the aforementioned Norris tournament, and a tournament at Ft. Loudoun coming up on May 10th.
