
JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- The Campbell County Commission has multiple budget amendments on its calendar for next week.
The amendments include:
- A request for $775,000 capital outlay note for a justice center HVAC components and data servers.
- Increasing the county litigation tax by 2.7 percent. General sessions judges’ salaries are set by the state. This increase would allow the county to stay complainant with new salary for the general sessions of $202,420 for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
- A request by the school system to move $20,000 from the evaluation and testing account to the legal account. The money is slated for “additional funds for legal services due primarily to additional legal work in relation to potential litigation.”
- The jail wants to replace two SUVs used to transport inmates. A 2020 Dodge Durango with 124,000 miles and a 2015 Ford Explorer with 126,000 miles. The amendment notes the funds for new vehicles will be covered by a projected increase in the State Prisoner Boarding funds.
- The commission will vote on donating $100,000 to area chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America. The money will be moved from the Economic and Development Fund to place a memorial and flagpole at the site of the Old Caryville School.
