Commission discusses agreement with Cumberland Village

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County EMS Director Bruce Perkins and Rob Flowers, who represented Cumberland Village, addressed the commission regarding an agreement between Cumberland Village’s new owners since the company had filed bankruptcy.

Perkins said there were several amendments that he did not agree with; one of those was going from a 60-day billing cycle to 150-day billing cycle.

Commission Johnny Bruce said in his opinion, “any money that was owed to the county should be paid within 60 days’ time and that he did not agree with that change. Commissioner Zach Marlow said he did not agree with that as well.

“You guys are asking us right now for some relief of what you currently owe us right now which is approximately $6,134 that is outstanding; that is money that is owed to the county and I expect it to be paid to the county, if we did that with you, we would have to do that with everyone else,” Chairman Bruce said.

EMS Director Bruce Perkins said he and Mr. Flowers would continue to work towards negotiations on the agreement and it will be brought back to the commission at a later date. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-08/11/2026-6AM)
