Brotherton sentenced in husband’s drug related death

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Sonya Brotherton has been sentenced to eight years in  prison for the drug related death of her husband in 2021.

On April 2, 2021, special agents with the TBI Drug Investigation Division joined investigators with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office in investigating Abraham Zenas Wallace’s death, after he was found deceased in the 300 block of Cumberland Overlook Lane in Jacksboro. His cause of death was determined to be an overdose caused by Fentanyl and Methamphetamine toxicity. During the course of the investigation, agents determined Deanthony Gilmore-Page and Brotherton were the individuals responsible for distributing the drugs to Wallace.

Last week, Brotherton was sentenced to eight years in prison on the count of reckless homicide. She will serve 100 percent of the sentence, according to court records. She will also serve 30 percent of six years for the conviction of possession of a schedule II controlled substance/ manufacture/ delivery/ sell/ possession. The sentences will be served concurrently.

Gilmore -Page pleaded guilty to reckless homicide in April 2025. He was sentenced to five years in prison to be served at 35percent with credit for time served, according to court records. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 8/11/2026- 6AM)
