JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- At Monday’s county commission meeting, the county mayor Jack Lynch was approved to “discuss any matters involving county insurance and act on behalf of the commission on any matters.” This move comes in light as the courthouse, into its second week, experiences a network disruption affecting certain systems as it works with external cybersecurity specialists.

It was also approved to hire Mathew Hall as legal counsel regarding the Airport Mega Project.

County commissioners also approved surplus items, contract agreements and other business.

  A community corrections grant was approved for the sheriff’s department, along with a Highway department surplus of a 1995 Ford Dump truck, a 1995 Ford ranger and back-end loader.

The sheriff’s department also was approved to surplus washers, dryers, a range and miscellaneous shelves.

The take down and removal of the sheriff’s department tower on Hollis Lane was approved. The department will solicit quotes for the job.

A total of 14 tires, and six chairs were declared dilapidated from the AT&T building, owned by the county located behind the courthouse on Kentucky Street.

Also approved was an agreement between the county and East Tennessee Human Resources Agency (ETHRA). According to County mayor Jack Lynch, this is an agreement the county renews with ETHRA each year.
