LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Lady Jay’s Body Arts is WLAF’s Business of the Week. The newly opened business has great Holiday Gift Certificates on sale for Christmas. Lady Jay’s Body Arts opened last month in the LaFollette Courts complex and is currently offering tattoos services from multiple talented artists to choose from, as well as body piercings. Soon to come, the business will be offering lashes, waxing, facials, tooth gems and teeth whitening.

Lady Jay’s Body Arts is WLAF’s Business of the week. The newly established family-owned business is located in LaFollette Courts. The shop is currently offering tattoo services from multiple talented artists, body piercing and more to come.

The business is a mother-daughter collaboration that combines the “beauty industry and the body art industry to create an alternative self-care one stop shop.”

Lady Jay’s Body Arts is a family-operated business. Owner Stacee Russell and her family are originally from Knoxville, which is where she “embarked on her career in the body art industry in 2014 as a piercing technician after being in the medical field for six years.”

“I started permanent cosmetic tattooing in 2018 and soon after, I began providing free nipple restoration tattoos for breast cancer survivors. I still provide this free service to those in need all over, near and far,” Russell said.

She eventually worked her way into traditional body tattooing in 2019, which is when she and her daughter, Kaylee, “came up with the dream to build a business together.” Kaylee was just in high school at the time.

“We wanted to collaborate the beauty industry and the body art industry to create an alternative self-care one stop shop. Kaylee immediately began collecting hours in high school, and then effectively turned those hours into an esthetician license,” Russell said.

In April 2021, Russell’s husband, Jason, “quit his 8-5 job to build their dream and BeautiMarx, their Knoxville business, was “born that September.”

“Since 2021, the three of us have collectively worked very hard to get our family out of Knoxville. In 2023, we bought our first home in Jacksboro and moved our large family of nine to Campbell County. We took a year getting to know Jacksboro, LaFollette and surrounding areas before we decided to take the plunge of opening a new studio locally,” Russell said.

She and her family started the body art studio because they felt that “Campbell County needs and deserves a family friendly, local, safe and affordable place to trust with all of their body art needs.”

“We can provide just that. We uphold the finest standards and only use the best products that are 100% disposable for our client’s safety. All of our jewelry is implant grade titanium. We only use internally threaded or threadless jewelry. Numbing ointment, aftercare sprays/glide and jewelry options are available for purchase. We also have a dedicated arcade room with vending machines for our clients to enjoy. Arcades are free.
