GATLINBURG, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County High School Future Farmers of America Chapter Tn0105’s Post attended the 97th annual FFA State Convention in Gatlinburg last week which ran from March 23-26 and was held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center. Members attended multiple sessions and received awards and state degrees.
The theme this year for the state convention was Expanding Horizons.
CCHS members “enjoyed themselves while being with others in their blue corduroy throughout the state,” said FFA Advisor Rachael Teague.

At the convention, CCHS had eight state degree winners, which is a big deal, as the “requirements for this degree are three pages long!” Those who received state degrees included Charity Ridenour, RJ Moore, Aimee Reid, John Jones, Isaac Jones, Alexis Hill, Shakira Goins and Eian Sharp.
It was also the school FFA Chapter’s first year receiving the PLOW Award (Passing Literacy OnWard) and participating in that program, which promotes reading literacy.
CCHS FFA Chapter President Isaac Jones also competed for state office and while he did not gain office, he gained “valuable experience,” Teague said.

CCHS FFA Chapter President Isaac Jones was among the state officer candidates at this year’s state FFA convention.
“It was very stiff competition,” Jones said, adding that an “amazing team” had been chosen as state officers.
“Our members work hard in volunteering, working on their supervised agricultural experience (SAE), participating in chapter and above chapter level events, and in being an overall good student and member of society. Your advisors are so proud of you and know that your impact on agriculture doesn’t go unnoticed. Congratulations state degree winners,” Teague said.
