Overdose Awareness training Sat., Aug. 31st at LaFollette Church of God at 10:30am

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- In recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, Campbell United, Campbell County’s anti-drug coalition has announced plans for an Overdose Awareness training event slated for Sat., Aug. 31 at the LaFollette Church of God at 10:30 am. The LaFollette Church of God is located at 1906 Jacksboro Pike, LaFollette.
According to Catherin Brunson with Prevention Alliance, events like these are important to the community. There will be free resources for citizens at the event and lots of information. Snacks will be available too.
“This is an international event. Almost all of the counties in the state participate in this, so we are so glad that Campbell County is participating this year,” Brunson said.
There will be overdose training on using Narcan, as well as testimonies, according to Brunson. Everyone is welcome at the event.
Churches and nonprofits can set up information and service booths for the event if they have “free items or information to get out to benefit the public.”
