CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- Campbell United has a drug take-back event scheduled for Sat., Apr. 25, in La Follette and Jellico.
“The event will be on Saturday, from 10am until 2pm, in the parking lot of Woodson’s Mall and at the Veterans Memorial,” said Charlsa Honeycutt, Director of the Campbell United Anti-Drug Coalition.
You are encouraged to turn in unneeded medication for safe disposal.
These Drug Take Back events are part of a national outreach effort by the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Campbell United participated last October in a similar event at La Follette and Jellico. The event netted 175 pounds of unwanted prescription medications, keeping them out the hands of kids and out of the landfills and the water system.
Participating in these types of events is not only good for the community, but good for our coalition as well in getting grants, because the state loves when we partner and participate in these kinds of efforts, according to coalition organizers.
