Single-digit temps creating “staying warm” challenges for us all, school buildings included
JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- “Due to continued icy conditions on secondary roads, single-digit temperatures, and challenges with our school heating systems, Campbell County Schools will remain closed today, Wednesday, January 22, 2025,” said Jennifer Fields, Campbell County Director of Schools.
Heating units are working overtime to maintain regular building temperatures, with all units operating on emergency heat, causing delays in fully warming the buildings, according to Fields. “The safety and comfort of our students and staff are our top priorities, and we anticipate building temperatures improving by Thursday,” said the director.
“Thank you for your understanding as we navigate these conditions,” said Fields
Principals, Assistant Principals, Maintenance, Custodians, and Central Office are to report to work on a two hour delay Wednesday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/22/2025-6AM)
