JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County High School JROTC Raiders program was recognized by Campbell County Commissioners at Monday’s regular monthly meeting. 

Commissioner Dewayne Gibson carried the proclamation to recognize the Campbell County High School JROTC Raiders program, which declared December 18th, 2023, in their honor. 

The JROTC Raiders were 2023 National Champions in the male division in the Rope Bridge and the Tire Flip competition and 2nd overall in the All Service Raider Championships and National Runner up overall. The team got 2nd in the 4K Team Run, 3rd in the Gauntlet and 4th in the Physical Team Test.

They were also national championships in Cross Country Rescue and 4th overall in the U.S. Army Raider Championships. 

“I’m super proud of these kids and all they have accomplished,” said JROTC instructor Major Michael Lester.

Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch read the proclamation aloud and provided a copy of it to each student. 

Commission chairman Johnny Bruce and others congratulated the students on their awards.
