Voting took place on Monday

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- In conjunction with the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office of Civics and as described by the Secretary of State’s website, ‘The mock election is a non-partisan, educational experience that gives Tennessee students a chance to learn how elected officials are selected. All Tennessee students are welcome to participate.’ That’s according to Josh Parker, U.S. Government teacher.

Voting was opened at 8am on Monday, 10/28 and closed at 3pm the same day. All students had the opportunity to vote online or using a paper ballot.
“A total of 394 students voted,” Parker said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/29/2024-2PM)
