Bottled water needed for those in sections of upper East Tennessee devastated by historic flooding

ERWIN, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Deputies from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department have traveled to upper East Tennessee Friday night to assist flood victims. “I am grateful for their willingness to not only serve here at home but to serve wherever the need may arise,” said Campbell Sheriff Wayne Barton.
Other sheriffs in the devastated area say that bottled water is needed, according to Barton.
The deputies reported to Unicoi County High School on Friday night and helped in the area around Erwin, the sheriff said.
Erwin is about the size of La Follette, and Unicoi County has a population of around 18,000.
Donations of bottled water may be dropped off at the lobby of the sheriff’s office lobby. “If you need assistance at the office, let one of our deputies know, and they will be happy to help you,” said Sheriff Barton. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/28/2024-11AM-PHOTO SUBMITTED)
