JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – On Wednesday morning, all Campbell County High School freshmen gathered into the auditorium at CCHS to take part in the renewed freshman award ceremony.

A ceremony that used to take place every year was recently started back up this year by Campbell High Principal Ben Foust and counselor Katherine Ayers.

“Freshmen, these awards will help with your college application process,” said Josh Parker who presented the majority of the awards.

To begin the ceremony, students with perfect attendance were honored. Those students were Kara Cook, Elijah Kidwell, Lucian Lanter and Lucas Wilson.

Following this, a few students from each class were presented a certificate of academic excellence.

Thad Aanderud was presented with a special award, honoring his perfect score on the Algebra 1 EOC

Also honored were a few students who really excelled not only in the class room, but outside as well.

Heerwa Patel, a transfer student from Louisville, Kentucky,  received a Cougar Good Citizen award for her kind treatment toward others and hard-working attitude.

Also receiving that award was Anna Arbo, for her friendliness and activeness at CCHS.

Lastly, a Positive Attitude Award was handed out to Janvi Thakor who, “did not let any language barriers dim her smile,” according to Principal Ben Foust.

Every Campbell High Freshman who was present received an academic or general honor.

The awards ceremony was quite the success, giving CC Freshman an exciting outlook on their next three years at 150 Cougar Lane. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 5-22-2025 6 AM)
