JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- County Commissioners passed a proclamation in honor of BSA Troop 435 at their regular monthly commission meeting on Monday. Troop 435 is Campbell County’s first female BSA Troop.

Commissioner Dewayne Kitts carried the proclamation, saying it was “an honor and a privilege to recognize Troop 435.”
“The Troop has been established for three years now and they have had a lot of great accomplishments, the community is proud of you, the county is proud of you and the commissioners are proud of you,” Kitts said.
Scouts were honored for all their “hard work, dedication and devotion performed as a troop.”
Currently has 17 Scouts, including Campbell County’s first female Eagle Scout. Since 2021, the Troop has earned 118 merit badges, 29 awards, 31 ranks, and completed 819 service hours.
“We appreciate all the hard work you all do in the community,” Commissioner Kitts said.
Commissioner Beverly Hall said the community and the county were proud of them.
Scoutmaster Liz White, saying it was “such a pleasure to lead these ladies, they work very hard, and they sure keep us on our toes,” White said.
She also asked that their partner Troop 534 stand to be recognized as well.
“We want to say thank you to our county for accepting us and promoting what we do. These scouts all work so hard,” White said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/22/2024-6AM)
