Big rig wreck keeps southbound I-75 traffic moving slowly

This big rig left I-75 in south Campbell County on Monday morning.

RIDGEWOOD, TN (WLAF)- An 18-wheeler left the roadway of I-75 southbound just before 10:30am Monday, and traffic has been moving slowly ever since. The accident occurred near Mile Marker 130, almost to the old weigh station, short of the Rocky Top Exit.

The driver of the tanker truck was injured, according to reports. “Some of the big rig’s diesel fuel spilled, but none of its load leaked,” said Jay Muncy, Campbell County EMA Director.

The driver of the rig was said to be injured.
