LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- We’ve all had that teacher who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute one of our hard working educators with a weekly feature. Teachers make a difference in their students lives each and every day. For many students, having a teacher who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation.
This week’s featured teacher is Anna Epperson. She teaches second grade at LaFollette Elementary School and is a first-year teacher.

Epperson is from Claiborne County, and she attended Midway Elementary and Claiborne County High School.
“I then went to the University of Tennessee and graduated this past May! When I’m not teaching, I am normally at church, with my family, or spending time at the lake,” Epperson said.
She is a 2nd grade teacher at LaFollette Elementary School, and this is her first year teaching, which is something she is very excited about.

Epperson said she wanted to teach since she was young and that she was inspired to follow a career path in education because of one of her own educators.
“I was inspired to become a teacher by my first-grade teacher, Mrs. Kristy Bowen. She was so kind and loving, she made me love to be at school. I hope I can have that same impact on at least one student,” Epperson said.
Her favorite part of the job is “being able to connect with students and share their happy moments.”
Every Thursday, WLAF’s Charlotte Underwood features the WLAF – Eagle Tire Pros teacher of the week. That educator also receives a free oil change from Eagle Tire Pros.
