CAMPBELL COUNTY (WLAF) -Campbell County Schools is pleased to announce that Allison Poston has been named the new principal of Wynn Habersham Elementary School.

Ms. Poston brings 26 years of experience in education to this role, including extensive service as both a classroom teacher and school administrator. She began her career as a classroom teacher in 1999 and moved into administration in 2011. Since that time, she has served Campbell County Schools in several leadership roles, including Principal of White Oak Elementary School, Assistant Principal at Campbell County High School, Principal of Caryville Elementary School, and most recently as Promotion and Retention Coordinator, where she has supported work related to ILPD, homebound services, summer school, and tutoring.
Ms. Poston earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education/Early Childhood from the University of the Cumberlands. She later earned both a Master of Arts in Education and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Tennessee Tech University.
As she begins this new role, Ms. Poston shared that returning to Wynn Habersham is especially meaningful because she attended the school as a child.
“I am excited for the opportunity to work alongside students, families, teachers, and staff as we continue the important work of helping every student learn, grow, and succeed,” Ms. Poston said. “This opportunity is especially meaningful to me because I attended this school as a child. Returning to serve as principal is both an honor and a privilege, and I look forward to giving back to a school that played such an important role in my own life.”
Ms. Poston’s vision for Wynn Habersham Elementary is centered on students, staff, and families working together to support the whole child.
“My vision is to foster a learning environment where students come first, teachers feel supported, and families are valued partners in the educational process,” she said. “By working together, we can help every child succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.”
In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Poston brings a deep personal connection to Campbell County. She is the proud mother of two sons and two daughters-in-law and is “Gigi” to two grandchildren. Having raised her family in Campbell County, she understands the importance of strong schools and strong communities.
“Family is at the center of my life,” Ms. Poston said. “I value relationships, open communication, and creating a school environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and supported.”
Campbell County Schools is excited to welcome Ms. Poston into this leadership role and looks forward to the continued growth and success of Wynn Habersham Elementary School under her leadership.
“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve this school and community,” Ms. Poston said. “As someone who once walked these hallways as a student, I understand the impact a school can have on a child’s life. I look forward to building relationships with students, families, and staff and working together to provide the very best educational experience for every child.”
“This is where I went to school as a child and Dad was also an administrator there,” she said.
