The southbound lanes of I-75 near Jellico are back open this morning
JELLICO, TN (WLAF)- Traffic is flowing and all lanes of I-75 are back open through a construction zone where a single-vehicle accident happened just before 3am Wednesday. At Mile Marker 159.6, just south of Jellico, is where first responders went to free a man pinned inside the wrecked vehicle.
The vehicle was headed south when it hit the concrete wall center median, according to one official. The driver, the only occupant, was pinned in the wreckage and freed by personnel with the Jellico Rescue Squad. He was transported to a Corbin Hospital by Campbell County EMS.
Traffic was forced into the right lane and right shoulder as the left lane and left shoulder were blocked. Crews cleared the scene and the interstate was completely reopened soon after 4:30am.
In addition to the JRS and Campbell EMS, officers with Jellico Police and Campbell Sheriff’s Deputies responded along with a Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/28/2024-6AM)
