CARYVILLE-JACKSORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Water for customers within the Mt. Paran, Posey Hill, and Park Road areas of the Caryville Jacksboro Utilities Commission (CJUC) water district is once again safe to drink, according to CJUC officials. The boil water advisory has been lifted. This means that water is now safe to drink for all CJUC customers.
DRINKING WATER PROBLEM CORRECTED
Customers within the Mt. Paran, Posey Hill, and Park Road areas of the Caryville Jacksboro Utilities were notified on August 24th, 2026, of a problem with our drinking water and were advised to boil their water before use. The boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure due to low water pressures following a water main break.
We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that the water is safe to drink without boiling it first, as water quality tests have confirmed its safety. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
If water is cloudy or discolored due to air pockets being introduced to the water mains, customers may run faucets for a few minutes until the water runs clear. Throw out any ice and flush the water dispenser for 3 to 5 minutes. Run the ice maker for 1 hour and throw away any ice made during that time. Wash the bin area.
