Community coming together to support the Croft family

LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- The community is coming together this week for a two day event to benefit a child. Both events are gospel singings to raise funds for Garland, the 6- year-old son of Jason and Kimberly Croft. On Fri., Aug. 14 at Katie’s Restaurant from 6-7:30 pm, there will be live gospel music and a love offering to help Garland and his family. The second event will be on Sat., Aug. 15 at 3 pm, at Greeneview Farms Market. There will be live gospel music and donations accepted for Garland and his family. There is no admission charge for either event.

Garland has a very rare genetic disorder called NA15.

The disease can cause blindness, heart problems, muscle and bone diseases, and other organ problems. The life expectancy of this disease is unknown, but the oldest adult with this is 40. The disease will progress as he gets older and constant medical attention is required.

There are only 120 people in the world to have this disease, and he is the only one in Tennessee with the disease. Garland also has Autism level Three (non-verbal) and requires constant care.

On Friday, there will be live music at Katie’s Restaurant. The event at Greeneview Farms Market features local musician Greg Marlow. Marlow has performed at The Grand Ole Opry and had multiple gospel hits. His opening acts will include Colton Harris. Harris is a 16- year-old who uses his music as a ministry.

Hunter Logan, will also open for Marlow. Logan, has had a long career in gospel music that includes playing on cruise ships, winning multiple awards and starting his own internet radio station.
