Daugherty, found guilty in Feb., sentenced on Monday to 25 years

JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)— On Monday, a Campbell County woman was sentenced to 25 years for Aggravated Child Abuse. District Attorney General Jared Effler announced that Holly Daugherty has been sentenced to 25 years in the Tennessee Department of Correction following her convictions for three counts of Aggravated Child Abuse of a Child Under Eight Years of Age.

On August 3, 2026, Criminal Court Judge Zachary R. Walden sentenced Daugherty to 25 years on each of the three Class A felony convictions. The Court ordered the sentences to be served concurrently, resulting in an effective sentence of 25 years. Pursuant to Tennessee law, Daugherty is required to serve the sentence at 100%.

A Campbell County jury returned guilty verdicts on all three counts following a trial during which the State presented evidence that Daugherty inflicted severe, non-accidental injuries upon her infant twin children while they were in her care.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys General Andi L. Bridges and Apryl C. Bradshaw. The investigation was led by Alcoholic Beverage Commission Special Agent Danielle Gilbert, formerly of the LaFollette Police Department, with significant investigative assistance provided by Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Rachel Bakaletz.
