“Jim Edwards Light Up the Sky Day” in Campbell County

CLINTON, TN (WLAF)- The Pearl at Aspire served as the backdrop for a fun and memorable Pyro Shows gathering as Pyro founder Lansden Hill celebrated his record breaking crew. Crew leader James “Jim” Edwards and his crew helped make Nashville history earlier this month at the Nashville Star Spangled Bash. The Bash has been Edwards baby going on 10 years.

It is no secret that one of Pyro Shows most prestigious Fourth of July shows is the Nashville Star Spangled Bash.  This year at the Music City proved to be even more momentous. For the first time in 16 years, ABC’s televised Fourth of July special  at Nashville ranked number 1  after a broadcast to more than 6.1 million viewers. That ranking shattered the previous top rated NBC televised coverage of Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks. NBC’s broadcast this year trailed with 4.9 million viewers.

Because of Edward’s contribution to the Nashville show this year, and as crew lead on this show since 2017, Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch and the Campbell County Commission honored Edwards and his remarkable contributions to Pyro Shows. The mayor and commission proclaimed Wednesday, July 22, 2026, as “Jim Edwards Light Up the Sky Day” in Campbell County.

Wednesday evening’s celebration was a total surprise for Edwards and most others in attendance. Celebration of the record setting event gives Campbell County another reason to be proud of all that members of the community have accomplished.
