Approximately 50 vehicles participated in the event, which continues to serve as both a gathering for automotive enthusiasts and a fundraiser benefiting children in need of specialized medical care.

Brandon Johnson, who has been a member of the Shriners for more than 10 years, was on hand representing his fellow members and expressing appreciation to those who supported the event.

“I always enjoy getting to spend time with people who love cars, but it’s even better when it’s for a cause like this,” Johnson said. “It’s amazing to see so many people come together to help children and their families. That’s what these events are really about.”

Johnson also recognized Tracy and Travis Sweat of Detailed Automotive and Valerie and Bert Cole of Sidelines for their continued commitment to the community. Through their leadership, the monthly cruise-ins have raised thousands of dollars for Shriners Hospitals for Children and other nonprofit organizations across Campbell County.

The next cruise-in will be held on Saturday, August 1st, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sidelines Bar & Grill.

“Tracy, Travis, Valerie, and Bert put a lot of time into these events, and our community is better because of it,” Johnson said. “They’ve built something that’s fun for everyone while making a real difference for people who need it. I’m grateful for everything they do.”

Shriners International is a fraternity founded on fellowship, family, fun, and philanthropy. Its signature philanthropy, Shriners Children’s, operates a network of pediatric specialty hospitals that provide expert care for children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and other complex medical needs. Families receive care regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status, ensuring every child has access to world-class treatment.

Johnson said the mission of the Shriners is one that continues to inspire members across the country.

“One of the things I’m most proud of as a Shriner is knowing that every fundraiser and every dollar raised helps give a child a chance at a healthier future,” Johnson said. “When you see the impact these hospitals have on kids and their families, it’s hard not to want to be part of that mission.”

Organizers thanked everyone who attended and encouraged the public to join future cruise-ins as the events continue supporting local charities while bringing the community together. The next cruise-in will be held on Saturday, August 1st, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sidelines Bar & Grill.

Sidelines Bar & Grill is located in front of Woodson’s Mall.
