JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Board of Education met on Tuesday evening, approving budget amendments, policies, positions and agreements for the upcoming school year. The board also approved to rebid the repair work for the Jacksboro gym floor project.

A budget amendment for $99,180 for the purchase of a water heater/boiler for Valley View Elementary School was among the amendments approved on Tuesday.

TOP PHOTO: The Campbell County Board of Education Policy Committee met on Tuesday evening, approving multiple policy changes and updates, which were handed down by the state Tennessee School Board Association. These policy changes were then sent to the full board for approval.

Board members approved multiple 2026-2027 policy updates and changes, which came from the State Tennessee School Board Association and was also recommended and approved by the BOE policy committee meeting.

Action items approved by the BOE included approving a “created position of 21st Century District Coordinator/Reading Specialist for Elk Valley Elementary and Jellico Elementary Schools. This position will be funded out of grant money that was approved by the Board of Education through the Title I budget.

Also approved was an Instructional Coach position at Campbell County High School which combines a previously GAP position and a Title I position.

Dual Enrollment Agreements for Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville and the Campbell County School System and TCAT Jacksboro and the school system were approved.

Also approved was a memorandum of agreement between Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services and Campbell County Public Schools in cooperation in the conduct of Project B.A.S.I.C. at Caryville Elementary School during the 2026-2027 school year.

A memorandum of agreement between Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services and Campbell County Public Schools for service to be provided at LaFollette Elementary School, LaFollette Middle School, East LaFollette Learning Academy, Campbell County High School, Jacksboro Elementary School, and Jacksboro Middle School, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, was approved.

The Campbell County Board of Education agreement for special education services for the Tennessee School for the Deaf and Tennessee School for the Blind for the school year was approved, as was the contract between the Campbell County Board of Education and Bus Owner/Operator for the school year.
