Ernest Lee Hawkins, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, at Renaissance Terrace in Harriman, Tennessee.
Earnest was of the Baptist faith and found great comfort in his relationship with God. He was often heard filling the halls of Renaissance Terrace with the beloved hymn “Amazing Grace,” bringing comfort and joy to those around him.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed ginsenging, hunting, and fishing. These simple pleasures reflected his appreciation for nature and the life he lived.
Earnest will be remembered for his faith, his kind spirit, and the memories he created with those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
He is proceeded in death by his mother and father Columbas and Emily Duncan Hawkins, son Jerry Hawkins, brothers Noah, Frank,Johnny, and Walter Hawkins, sisters Lana Waggoner, Hazel Roden, and Louise Carroll.
He is survived by his sons Bobby Hawkins (Janet), Jeff Hawkins(Nancy), Brother David Hawkins, Sister Gracie Wilson, 8 grandkids, 9 great-grandkids, and a host of nieces and nephew.

Visitation: 6:00PM -8:00PM, Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City, Tennessee.
Graveside Service: 11:30AM, Friday, July 10. 2026, family and friends will meet at Mt. View Cemetery on Vowell Mountain in Lake City, Tennessee with Rev. Tim Wilson officiating
