CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Over the past 28 years, Jimmy Jeffries has served the community in numerous capacities. He worked as a police officer for the City of LaFollette, served as a detective with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department, and then returned to the City of LaFollette to serve as Chief of Police and City Administrator. In his role as City Administrator, he learned how to manage budgets, secure grants, and oversee the general operations of local government. He now works for the Tennessee Department of Safety.

He has a proven work ethic at every stop in his career and will bring that same commitment to the County Mayor’s office. When elected, he will work hard to ensure Campbell County continues to move forward.

As County Mayor he will focus on lifting up our community. His priorities will be: job recruitment, infrastructure, education, and county services. After losing our two largest factories, Campbell County needs to attract new jobs. As County Mayor, he will aggressively work to bring industry and thriving businesses to invest in our community. With additional business comes the need for additional infrastructure. As a county, we need both industrial and residential infrastructure upgrades, including improvements to waterlines, the electric grid, and traffic capacity for our growing communities.

Education is another key component of our county’s future. He will work with the County Commission, School Board, and Director of Schools to ensure our children and grandchildren receive the best education possible.

As County Mayor, he will also work with the County Commission to ensure county services operate at peak efficiency so the citizens of Campbell County receive the services they both need and deserve. When elected, his door will always be open to the citizens of Campbell County.

For a strong new voice, vote James “Jimmy” Jeffries for Campbell County Mayor. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/23/2026-6AM-PAID)
