La Follette Chief Matthew Forsyth vowed to continue to exhaust all efforts to apprehend Canchola

KNOXVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- On June 15, 2026, U.S. Marshals arrested fugitive Alejandro Mancera Canchola. Canchola was wanted for attempted first-degree murder stemming from an incident on December 17, 2024, in LaFollette.

Manhunt continues, victim recovering from alleged knife attack
A mother of two is being treated at a Knoxville hospital

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- An apparent domestic situation escalated when a man allegedly slashed his girlfriend with a knife, according to authorities. Law enforcement is searching for a Hispanic male while the Hispanic female is being treated for her wounds.
UPDATE: The victim underwent surgery Tuesday evening at the UT Medical Center at Knoxville, according to La Follette Police Captain Charles Duff. “We have no new leads on the suspect, and our hunt continues in this ongoing investigation,” said Duff.

“This all began around nine o’clock this morning (Tue., Dec. 17, 2024), and we’re just now able to enter the home after obtaining a search warrant,” said La Follette Police Captain Charles Duff. LPD investigators entered the South Ave. home at 12:56pm.
Neighbors said there were two children living in the home at 412 South Ave. The grayish two story home with maroon shutters sits off the street behind another home down a gravel driveway. It is between South Ave. and West Chestnut Street.

“We’re looking for man named Alejandro Mancera Canchola, and he also goes by another name, Sergio Monsata. He was last seen driving a white 2008 Toyota Corolla with Tennessee license plate 084 BNWN,” said Duff.
