Wesley Hughes, age 63 of LaFollette

Mr. Wesley Hughes, age 63 of LaFollette passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. He was a member of Grace Age Fellowship Church and a long-time Diesel Mechanic. Wesley was born March 24, 1963, and was the youngest of 7 children to the late Sam and Bernice (King) Hughes. He loved spending his free time fishing, and being with family, especially his grandson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie Hughes and Wayne Hughes.

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Hughes (David Maynard); son, Sam Hughes; beloved grandson, Isaac Maynard; granddaughter, Lanee Maynard; brother, Bill Hughes; sisters, Brenda Byrd, Margie Williamson (Kenneth), and Sharon Franklin (Rev. Mike); former spouse and mother of their children, Sharon Hughes; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 PM with Rev. Wade Walls and Rev. Harry James officiating. Family and friends will meet on Sunday, June 7, 2026, 1:30 PM at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Peabody Cemetery for 2:00 PM Graveside Services and Interment.
