His older brother Dennis fought in two wars

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Late U-S Army Veteran Dennis Kitts set quite the bar for his younger brother Warren. Dennis was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, Vietnam War and several other conflicts. He was a Ranger with the 5th Special Forces at Vietnam. “I’ve always been sentimental toward veterans especially on Memorial Day,” said Warren Kitts.

Warren graduated Wynn High School in 1961 and enlisted in the U-S Army in 1964 serving until 1966. He served in the Reserves from 1978 until 1987. Warren said he always wanted to do his part and served in Germany during the Vietnam era.
“Even as a child I had a compassion about veterans,” said Warren.

Dennis continued his service in public life when he returned home. For more than than 30 years, he was an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) first with the La Follette Ambulance Service for 29 years and then with Vital Care for the remainder of his career.
Warren continues to serve today in the Honor Guard of Campbell County. He’s been with the Honor Guard since 2022.
