Wildfire smoke and haze settling into La Follette and the valley

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- An active wildfire is burning on TWRA property in the mountains of Campbell County. As a result, smoke and haze are showing up in La Follette and much of the valley.

Firefighters with the Division of Forestry are battling the wildfire.

“Please do not be alarmed for there is no danger to the citizens of La Follette at this time,” said Stan Foust, City Administrator.

Chief Jimmy Pack and the La Follette Fire Department are monitoring the situation and will provide updates as needed.
