Through Jan. 30, there’s a $26 adoption fee on adult dogs, cats with approved application

Smokey is a three-year-old mixed breed weighing 63 pounds of pure prey loving pup. This handsome guy has an easygoing personality with people. He is “dog selective” so we ask for a meet and greet if you currently have dogs; no cats.

Smokey tested positive for heartworm and is being treated. A full recovery is expected.

Smokey isn’t demanding, he’s happy to go with the flow. He has a relaxed temperament. He is very strong and he is working on his leash training. He is happy to relax by your side. If you’re looking for a low-drama, easy companion, Smokey checks every box. He is perfect for adoption or fostering.

From now until Jan. 30, the shelter has a $26 adoption fee on all adult dogs and cats with an approved application. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, flea and tick treatment, deworming, preliminary vet exam, species/age-appropriate vaccinations and FeLV/FIV testing (cats only).

The adoption center, animal shelter, is open Tuesday – Saturday, noon to 5:30pm, at 749 Towe String Road, Jacksboro, next to the convenience center. The center’s telephone number is 423-566-8018.
