There was a large turnout for Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell County Board of Education members recognized Jacksboro Elementary School girls’ and boys’ basketball players and cheerleaders as large division champions at Tuesday’s BOE meeting. Each player was called forward to receive a certificate.

The Jacksboro Elementary School Lady Eagles are left to right Lyla Swope, Heaven Kitts, Paisley Thompson, Josie Ayers, Brooklyn Booth, Addie Hatfield, Emma Brown, Jamesyn Goins, Avery Rains, Zailey Busher and Hazel Kitts. Back row are Coach John Philpot and BOE Members Brandon Johnson, Jamie Wheeler, Randy Heatherly and Sharon Ridenour.

The girl’s large division basketball champions were recognized first for their “outstanding season marked by hard work, teamwork and determination. These young athletes demonstrated exceptional skill on the court, but even more importantly, they represented their school and community with character, sportsmanship and pride. Their commitment to excellence, both individual and as a team, led them to a well-deserved championship.”

The boy’s large division basketball champions were recognized for “their incredible accomplishment this season. Through discipline, perseverance and teamwork, these student athletes rose to the challenge and brought home the championship title. Their dedication during practices, their determination during competition and their support for one another exemplify what it means to be a true team. We commend their coaches, families and school for fostering an environment where success is earned and character is built.”

Jacksboro Elementary School Cheerleaders were recognized as well for “unwavering support of both championship teams throughout the entire season. Their energy, school spirit and encouragement helped fuel the athletes on and off the court, creating an atmosphere of excitement and unity at every game. These cheerleaders exemplify leadership, dedication and positivity, reminding us all that championships are not won by players alone, but by an entire community and school working together.”

The Campbell County BOE held a very brief meeting on Tuesday evening, with the main agenda item recognizing the Jacksboro Elementary Boys and Girls basketball teams and cheerleaders.
