Listen here as WLAF Alum Clayton Carroll broadcasts Vanderbilt-Austin Peay basketball at 7:00

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WLAF)- For two years, I had the privilege of calling the Campbell Lady Cougars and Cougars basketball games. The memories I have from doing those games are priceless and unforgettable. Having been left at the gym in Florida covering the Lady Cougars, to calling the Cougars’ thrilling overtime win at Heritage last year, and just experiencing the fun times and exchanging jabs with Josh Parker and the crew, it was truly such a memorable experience.
Now, I’m a freshman at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, studying Broadcast Media with a concentration in Sports Communication.
As those of you who know me personally, or may have guessed, I like to talk…A LOT, so I was able to gain connections rather quickly. These connections with professors, fellow students, producers, and broadcasters have earned me incredible opportunities.

For starters, I hosted Tuesday Tailgate for APSU-TV. This is a seasonal sports show discussing Montgomery County high school football, along with APSU Athletics. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to serve as the public address announcer for Govs Hockey.
Now, for the big “splash.” I have been given the position of play-by-play voice for Austin Peay Women’s Basketball home games. In a home slate that features an SEC opponent Vanderbilt and rivals Lipscomb and Murray State, it’s sure to be an exciting season on the hardwood.

Tune in on Wednesday, Nov. 12, for my first broadcast as APSU hosts Vanderbilt. Tip-off is at 7pm EST (6pm CST). Listen via WAPX-FM over letsgopeay.com.
Here is the Govs’ full schedule; all times are Central Standard Time.
And who knows, maybe I’ll show up on the WLAF airways again here soon.
