
CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- In about 30 minutes, the Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen worked through the monthly agenda.
The board approved the first reading of Ordinance No. 2025-08 to modify Title 18 waters and sewers of the Caryville Municipal Code by removing the reference to division of water pollution control from 18-103(3) and replacing with division of water resources, removing reference to 40 CFR 403.12(a) from section 18-103(51)(b) and adding reference to 40 CFR 403.8(f)(1)(vi)(A) minimal criminal penalty of $1,000 a day for each violation by an industrial user to section 18-205(10).
Ordinance 2025-09 was approved. The ordinance aligns the personnel policy with an 80 hour pay period instead of a 40 hour pay period.
An invoice for Cannon and Cannon in the amount of $14,700.00 for Caryville Cares Playground Phase Two was approved.
The board discussed paying off the Builtwell Bank paving loan in the amount of $190,775.40. After a few minutes of discussion, Alderman Josh Monday made a motion to pay the loan off. The motion died for lack of a second.
The fire department requested permission to apply for the James L. Richardson Driver Matching Grant in the amount of $2,000. The board approved the request. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/14/2025-6AM)
