Before October is out, McDonald’s customers will be placing inside orders at the yet to be constructed counter or at the walk-up window to the left. Photographer Charlie Hutson is taking this photo from the dining room area where 25-30 customers will be able to sit and dine-in.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- “Probably that second week of October,” said Rex Adams, Construction Superintendent, on the new McDonald’s project. He’s referencing the still possible opening date of Mickey D’s on West Central Avenue.

The installation of heating and air duct work is being installed in the kitchen area. Those are drive-up windows on the right.

Adams calls the project “still on track”. “The inside of the building is moving right along,” said Adams.

Drive-thru customers, about 80% of McDonald’s business, will travel down the south side of the building toward town to pick up their orders.

“Obviously doing this concrete work and stuff, that’s going to put a kink in the thing if it rains,” said Adams. He calls it maybe a little tricky situation if predicted rain gets here Thursday while they try to do concrete work.

The development of the double drive through is a work in progress. This is a look at the First Baptist Church side of the McDonald’s building.

McDonald’s is being built between South 5th Street and the First Baptist Church of La Follette.

To the left are parts of what will be constructed into a huge refrigeration/freezer unit.
It’s beginning to look a lot like a McDonald’s.
