Retired U-S Army Lt. Colonel Knud Salveson (below) leads the setting up of the 911 display

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- “This is very important to our church, community and our country,” said Retired U-S Army Lt. Colonel Knud Salveson. The Colonel, as everyone calls him, is referencing the 911 display that was put in place late Tuesday afternoon at the La Follette Church of God.

The replica of the twin towers stands along Jacksboro Pike near Skyway Bridge.

The creation of the display and remembrance was the Colonel’s idea nearly 25 years ago after that fateful day on September 11, 2001, when America came under attack.

Salveson is the founder of the Campbell High JROTC program.

WLAF’s Charlie Hutson shares a wide look at the 911 display.
